Believe it or Not.

This week the Point staff headed to New Jersey for a few days all in the spirit of praying and playing. Thus Pray N’ Play Retreat. Mark Batterson has a one liner that goes like this, “A change of place + a change of pace = a change of perspective.” Sometimes that is what it takes to be open to new insight and for God to speak to you in a different way. We have really being praying and seeking God, that He will show us what the next steps are at The Point. We’ve been rethinking a ton, rehashing what really matters, digging up our roots and spending even more time in God’s presence. If we’re not healthy leaders how are we supposed to lead healthy? Also, a staff that plays together, stays together. You got to have some fun!

After a staff devo and prayer we headed to Ripley’s Believe it or Not where we spent the rest of the day in Atlantic City eating some food. There can be a life lesson in anything. So, life lesson here? There are things that we see that seem completely crazy and far-fetched but are STILL true. We know that we will change the culture of Long Island, believe it or not!

We also had the opportunity to head to Shore Fellowship lead by Pastor Tim Chambers. There they had a Recharge Conference with guest speaker Bil Cornelius. Awesome stuff!

Then on our last day we headed to Ocean City, NJ to spend some time on the beach, walking around and eating. I would have been a mini golf champ if I didn’t tie with Matt. We got sunburnt and ate custard ice cream. It was great. All in all, we left with a ton of insight and what it means to be a true leader of Christ. We need to be leaders worth mirroring. We need to be the first to speak up and out God’s blessings.

Here are just a few snapshots from our trip.

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.”

Proverbs 13:12

We have high hopes and high dreams for The Point and people living on Long Island. We’re setting aside excuses and believing in God for greater things. Because we have only begun, believe it or not.

  1. Thank you for another fantastic post. Where else may just anybody get that kind of information in such an ideal means of writing? I’ve a presentation next week, and I am at the search for such info.
